Results of the competitive bidding for trade-off study and substantiation of process flowsheet for the design of the mining and metallurgical plant at Udokan copper deposit
Proposals brought forward by Bateman International Projects B.V. (Bateman) meet to the fullest extent the requirements of the tender “Substantiation of process flowsheet for the design of the mining and metallurgical plant at Udokan copper deposit”. This decision was made by specialists of Baikal Mining Company, Mikhaylovsky Mine, as well as experts in mineral mining and processing engaged for the evaluation of the process technologies proposed during the tender procedure.
Bateman is entrusted with the substantiation of process flowsheet for the design of the mining and metallurgical plant at Udokan copper deposit. The work is underway to draft contracts for the trade-off study and pilot plant testwork. “In performing the study the best process solutions proposed by all bidders will be used. Special attention will be paid to evaluation of technological proposals submitted by Dobersek, FGUP Gintsvetmet and Outotec”, Andrei Varichev, Director General of Baikal Mining Company, noted.
7 bidders out of 14 were short-listed after the first stage of the competitive bidding for the substantiation of process flowsheet for the design of the mining and metallurgical plant at Udokan copper deposit. The short-list included: OAO VNIPIpromtekhnologii, OAO VNIIKHT, FGUP GIPROTSVETMET, Engineering Dobersek, Glencore, FGUP Gintsvetmet, Bateman International Projects B.V., OOO Institute Gipronickel, ZAO Mekhanobr Engineering, OOO PiterGORproject and OUTOTEC.
On the second stage the bids were examined by the expert group of world-renowned professionals, namely:
- Valentin Chanturiya, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Engineering Science, Director of Research Institute of Comprehensive Exploitation of Mineral Resources (Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow);
- Kliment Trubetskoy, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Engineering Science, Advisor to Research Institute of Comprehensive Exploitation of Mineral Resources (Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow);
- Dmitry Livanov, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, President of Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISiS).
